EXPErience

Senior Copywriter | Stuller Inc.
Lafayette, LA - 2013-2021

Stuller is the largest fine jewelry manufacturer in the U.S. and ships globally. Most campaigns we created were B2B multi-channel. As a privately owned company, I'm not able to share Stuller financial data. During my tenure, the company grew significantly year-over-year. And during my final two years (2020 and 2021), Stuller experienced its two most profitable years ever.

  • Wrote digital and print for all businesses under the Stuller umbrella. These include Bridal, Fine Jewelry, Mountings, Findings, Diamonds & Gemstones, Custom Design and Gemvision® Design Software, Fabricated Metals, and Tools & Supplies. (Yes, I can give you the scoop on natural vs lab-created diamonds.)

  • Worked extensively on Stuller.com.

  • Strategized and helped develop Stuller First®, the company's flat-rate shipping program, which has spurred strong revenue growth.

  • Worked on the team that developed Stuller Branding and also helped brand multiple products.

  • Wrote customer stories and articles or two Stuller customer magazines: ftb: from the bench and btg: beyond the glass. The articles featured Stuller experts, products and services.

  • Helped to develop and launch Stuller Blog and contributed numerous posts under my name as well as product managers’ names.

  • Wrote materials for customer events and classes held in Stuller’s headquarters.

  • Wrote materials for industry tradeshows.

Writer | Freelance
Lafayette, LA - 2004 to 2013

  • Wrote brochures for a regional arts center, hospitals, private schools, doctors, the Creole Nature Trail, All American Road, and other clients.

  • Wrote articles for a local independent newspaper and several for local magazines.

  • Started a jewelry business, Spark LLC, making and selling my jewelry. I placed it in six stores in three cities.

Copywriter | BBR Creative
Lafayette, LA - 2000 to 2004

  • Wrote brochures, ads, newsletters, etc., for various clients. These included BELFOR, a global disaster recovery firm involved in the clean-up and recovery of many large disasters, including 9/11. I also wrote for Aggreko, a global temporary power and temperature control rental company, hospitals, healthcare businesses, industrial clients, and more.

Copywriter | The Graham Group
Lafayette, LA - 1993 to 2000

  • Followed the State of Louisiana Tourism contract from Side & Associates to The Graham Group, then part of Peter Mayer & Partners.

  • From 1991 to 2000, Louisiana Tourism grew steadily at 4% to 7% over the previous year. For many years, its growth was the highest in the U.S.

  • Wrote all materials for the Cooperative Advertising Program, a partnership with the state's Convention and Visitors Bureaus. The program expanded the CVBs’ marketing reach through cost-sharing on a wide array of tourism promotions.

  • Traveled the state visiting CVBs and tourism-related businesses and sites.

  • Worked with a designer to concept and write an annual 8-page newspaper insert — yes, once upon a time, this was a big deal. We sent this newspaper promotion to four million out-of-state households, and it generated an ever-increasing number of CVB inquiries for the CVBs, pushing tourism growth.
